Docket Lite

A free grad school application tracker. Every application, its deadline and its status in one list, saved in this browser only.

Add a date and Docket Lite warns you before it passes.

Your data

Records stay in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data erases them, so save a backup now and then.

Calendar

Download your upcoming deadlines as a file for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Each one gets a reminder 7 days and 1 day before. Only applications still being prepared are included. If the download is blocked, copy the text shown and save it in a file that ends in .ics.

Import from a spreadsheet

Use a CSV file, or copy rows from Excel or Google Sheets and paste them below. The first row must hold column names such as Institution, Programme, Type, Deadline, Status and Notes. Dates can be 31/01/2027 (day first) or 2027-01-31. You review every row before anything is added.

Keep Docket Lite free

Application season is stressful enough without another paywall. Docket Lite is free, has no ads, and never sees or sells your information. It is built and looked after by one person.

If it saved you a missed deadline or an evening of spreadsheet wrestling, a small tip helps me keep improving it and answering your messages. Give whatever feels right. There is no pressure, and telling a friend who is applying helps just as much.

Privacy

Your applications, notes and settings are saved only in this browser, on this device. Docket Lite has no accounts and does not send them anywhere. Clearing your browser data erases them, so keep a backup.

The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts. The site owner counts visits and a few anonymous actions, such as “an application was added” or “a CSV was exported”, using Cloudflare Web Analytics and GoatCounter. Neither uses cookies. Only the name of the action is counted. Nothing you type, including institutions, programmes, notes and dates, is ever sent.

Tips are handled by a separate payment page, not by this site. Docket Lite is an independent tool. It is not connected to any university or admissions body, and it does not predict admission results.

Questions and answers

Is Docket Lite really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no ads and no paid tier. If it helps you, there is an optional tip link, but you never need it.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the page and start adding applications. There is nothing to register.

Where is my data stored?

Only in your own browser, on your own device. It is not sent to a server. Clearing your browser data erases it, so download a backup now and then.

What can I track?

For each application: institution, programme, type (Master's, PhD, postdoc, job, fellowship or scholarship), deadline, status, recommendation letters and your own notes.

Can I add deadlines to my calendar?

Yes. You can export upcoming deadlines as a calendar file with reminders a week and a day before. It works with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.

Can I move my spreadsheet into Docket Lite?

Yes. Use Import from a spreadsheet to paste or upload a CSV. You see a preview first and duplicates are flagged. You can also export your list to CSV at any time.

Is it only for PhD applications?

No. It works for Master's programmes, PhDs, fellowships, scholarships, postdocs and jobs.

Does it predict whether I will be admitted?

No. Docket Lite only helps you stay organised. It is independent and not connected to any university or admissions body.
